How to remove norton antivirus?

I try to remove norton 2006 antivirus and it wont let me and even with the tool ..is there another way..

I have had it with them and the service is poor at best.

please anyone elese have this problem?

If you cannot uninstall it with the uninstall tool, try to uninstall in safe mode. When your computer starts, press F9, F10, F11, or F12. Each of these will pull up a different menu. You need to find the BOOT MENU and choose to boot the computer in SAFE MODE. When you do, log on to the ADMINISTRATOR account. If the is no ADMINISTRATOR account, log on to your own account. Once you do, try to uninstall Norton again. Your computer should let you uninstall it. Go to Symantec.com and it should explain the way to do it. Explain the problem to them and they will be more than happy to help you uninstall it and they can even help you to fix the problem you may be having
Restart your system tap the F8 key when it starts up. keep tapping it over and over untill you get a list... Select safe mode. Go in ther and uninstall. I suggest kaspersky for your new AV. There should be an uninstall icon within the folder where Norton is located. You could even check the Start menus and look for it there.
