Is there an antivirus compatible w/ Windows '98'?

a friend has a notebook (that acts as the modem) connected to a moniter. Was told she needed Windows XP for Nortons' Antivirus

Is there an antivirus compatible w/ Windows '98'?aurora

Yes, AVG Free is the best anti-virus out there right now and is compatible with Windows 98. Norton is total junk, uses up a lot of system resources and you have to pay for it. Avast is another free anti-virus, which is still good, but personally I like AVG. You can download AVG from the link below. There is absolutely no spyware.

Quite a few, a good scanner that supports W98 is NOD32, which you can find at http://www.eset.com/products/win9x.php AVG is mentioned a lot, and it is better than nothing, but not the most impressive scanner around. Avast is another, but reported to slow the computer down more since the last update.

Norton isn't what I would recommend, if you want to pay, NOD32, if you don't, check this link:

AOL's offering might be something for you, Kaspersky make a top notch scanner.
Go to http://free-av.com/ they have a very good program for free works also with 2000 and XP
norton!!!!! yea if you want her pc to be as slow as a snail. I'd say AVG Free Edition. It's worked with my pc very well. it doesn't hog up cpu, ram, and disk space.
