The job of antivirus!!!?

Logically, the job of the antivirus not just to remove the virus from pc,but to prevent it from being downloaded in your pc,I mean blocking it befor it attack your pc.

I have Windows Live OneCare v2.0,my friend yesterday connected his phone to my pc to download somethings, the windows live onecare detect there is a virus in his phone and prompt me,so I of course clicked on clean all button,it prompt me again and every time I clicked again on clean all, after my friend finished....I ran a complete pc scan with ad-aware and spybot and they found a Worm with 10/10 dangerous rate!!!!!...so what is the hell windows live onecare was doing?????...just prompting me!!

But when I ran a complete scan with the OneCare it found additional 1 worm and 1 trojan after Spybot and Ad-aware scan!.....but why OneCare didn't stop them from the beginning???is this a program bug or what???

WEll,

windows onecare is doing its job. Its a reall good antivirus

you probably don't have the updates to it.

AdAware and spybot cannot be trusted - they don't secure computers to today's threats.

or live one care has a program malfunction by the worm. (Worms can do that.)

In that case, you may need to edit the registry to disable the worm.

It was prompting U 2 disconnect the phone.
The virus may have been a varient that was not yet in the signature list when it got onto your system, then when signatures were updated, the file was found. In this case, the only hope OneCare had was to "foresee" the virus using heuristic scanning, i.e. proactive scanning.

While Windows OneCare got a "Standard" rating for proactive defense at av-comparatives, it was a pretty low rating if you look at the over all percentage of viruses stopped. Check out the source and concider one with a higher rating, or at least a higher over all percentage.
