When installing an antivirus programme? do i need to uninstall the previous one?

if i have avg installed...but i want to install a new trial version of a different antivirus programme...do i have to uninstall my avg first? thanks in advance xx

Yes. You can't really run two anti-viral programs at once. I remember reading something that explained why you shouldn't have two anti-viral programs on your computer but I can't remember exactly what the article said. Just remember that it said you shouldn't because they interfere with each other or something! As for the person above saying they have Ad-Aware and Norton, that is fine because Ad-Aware is not an anti-virus program - it is a anti-spyware program!!

yes... when you install multiple anit virus programs they will start to conflict with each other effectivly cancelling the other out leaving your system wide open to attacks...

plus trial versions of a\v's only offer so much protection and the avg program that you are using is probably one of the best a\v's out there, so personally i would stick with that!
