most of the antivirus slow down the pc...Takes too much cpu usages.
Which is the best antivirus software in these days....?norton antivirus 2007
Depending which forum or review site your go on, you can get very mixed messages, sometimes it depends on what else you have running on the computer at the same time.
I have had experience of Norton, CA (etrust), AVG (free version), Avast (free version) and Kaspersky.
If background CPU usage concerns you, I would steer well clear of Norton, it is a very effective antivirus program, but all the versions I have had over the years (that's about 5), they all caused quite bad performance hits (plus Norton leaves a lot of hidden junk on your PC when you uninstall it)
For free software I found Avast a better program than AVG (it does more than AVG and has a cleaner interface), both are effective programs and low of resource usage however.
My choice for paid antivirus software would have to be Kaspersky, it is by far the most effective software for stopping viruses on the market at the moment, I have it installed on my Vista image and it takes up practically no system resources at all (however you will find your system VERY slow to boot up the first time you install it, as it's doing a lot of background checks and recording)
Hope this helps.
